How to Enter Co-op

There is no direct entry into co-op. During your first year in the faculty, you must complete a foundational year of courses.

In the spring of every calendar year, students will rank their specializations and will be offered a place in an academic program. Students with previous post-secondary credit, either from a different ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ faculty or another post-secondary institution, will need to submit a specialization ranking form in addition to an application for admission to the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. We understand that this is a big choice. We encourage you to learn about the programs to make an informed decision.

Co-op Degree Expectations

An Engineering Co-op Degree has some additional rules that we expect all co-op students to follow. Most importantly, all co-op degrees have a predetermined program sequence, a set order in which you complete your work and academic terms. After your foundational year, you will alternate between work and academic terms. Your co-op degree will be completed in five years, not four. Co-op work terms are also a mandatory component of your degree. However, the effort and commitment are worth it!
