The College of Social Sciences and Humanities is pleased to announce the extension of Serhii Nadobko's tenure as a visiting scholar at the Faculty of Law, made possible through the .

This award will provide ongoing support for the residency and research of Nadobko, facilitated by support from the Faculty of Law, the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies and the Disrupted Ukrainian Scholars and Students (DUSS) initiative.

The SAR Ukraine Fellowship supports Ukrainian academics who have been displaced and are now being hosted by educational institutions in North America, including the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ. This funding assists scholars in advancing their research endeavors and encourages collaborations between displaced academics and their institutions in Ukraine, as well as with the global research community.

“This funding will greatly aid me in conducting further research on human rights and crimes in Ukraine, a topic that is deeply personal to me,” says Nadobko.

Nadobko’s research with the Faculty of Law focuses on methods for improving the legal guarantees surrounding human rights in Ukraine, the administrative regulators of human rights and constitutional human rights under martial law.

"Through the joint initiative of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ's DUSS program and the Faculty of Law, Nadobko joined the faculty as a visiting scholar for a four-month term, beginning last February,” says Dean Barbara Billingsley of the Faculty of Law.

She continues:

“I am extremely pleased to learn that, through DUSS, Serhii has secured additional funding to enable him to continue his affiliation with the Faculty of Law as a visiting scholar until the end of the year. I look forward to his continued presence and contributions to our academic community."
