Student Admissions
- On November 26, 2018, General Faculties Council unanimously approved the FoMD's proposal to remove the upper limit on Indigenous Admissions beginning in the 2019/2020 intake cycle. All Indigenous applicants who meet the minimum eligibility requirements and who pass the Indigenous panel interview will be offered admission to the MD Program.
This historic decision works to redress the legacy of Indian Residential Schools and colonial policies and meaningfully advance the process of reconciliation. - Given the faculty's commitment to implementation of the, on May 10, 2019 Dennis Kunimoto, interim dean, utilized his decanal decision-making authority to ensure all 13 eligible Indigenous applicants were offered admission for the 2018/2019 application cycle.

Our future
The FoMD remains committed to addressing Call to Action 23 (i) and will increase efforts to attract, recruit and admit Indigenous students and support their distinct needs with holistic and distinctions-based supports and services.
The MD program will also award four new full-tuition scholarships to entering Indigenous students.
