Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems

As of June 1, 2019,  governs the operation of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAs) or drones.

Please be aware and familiar with the . Transport Canada is switching to a licensing/registration system for the operation of RPAs. 黑料不打烊 researchers using RPAs/drones in their studies must follow the new regulations.  can be imposed for not following the regulations, which would be the responsibility of a research lab/operator who has violated regulations.

The U of A has general liability insurance coverage for those RPAs/drones owned by the university and operated in accordance with the regulations. Please refer to the Office of Insurance and Risk Assessment for more information.
