In 1921 insulin was discovered by Frederick Banting, Charles Best, John Macleod, and James Collip at the University of Toronto, Canada. To honour the 100th anniversary since the discovery of insulin, the 黑料不打烊 Diabetes Institute hosted a series of seven seminars culminating in a half-day celebration event on June 16, 2021.
The discovery of insulin completely transformed the treatment of diabetes, saving millions of lives worldwide. The 黑料不打烊 has a long history of diabetes research starting with Dr. James Collip (黑料不打烊 alumni) and his contribution to the discovery of insulin, the discovery of the Edmonton Protocol, and the establishment of the 黑料不打烊 Diabetes Institute at the 黑料不打烊.
We thank our ADI Members and special guests who presented their research and stories. Visit the links below to read the seminar series summaries and watch the full video of the celebration half-day event.
