For Host Supervisors

The aim of the RWTH Aachen-UºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Junior Fellowship is to provide opportunities for students from RWTH Aachen, demonstrating excellent academic performance, to conduct research as part of the Master's or doctoral thesis (including research internships). Host Supervisor Responsibilities

In order to facilitate the candidate’s application to RWTH Aachen for funding, UºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ host supervisors are requested to provide a letter confirming willingness to host the candidate that references the research project as well as details on the expected outcome and/or prospective cooperation in the future.

Once the participant has arrived on campus, host supervisors are asked to provide access to appropriate research facilities and to act as a mentor for the duration of the participant’s stay. 

Responsibilities of the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ International (UAI)

The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ International is responsible for overseeing this program and will guide and directly assist the host professor and the RWTH Aachen Junior Fellowship candidate through the invitation and immigration application process.

UAI will submit the for any research interns as necessary.

Candidates will normally be formally invited to the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ, and must obtain the proper immigration documents. This is dependent on a few factors, the primary one being the length of stay as a researcher.

The appropriate student category for invitation will be determined and confirmed with all parties after nomination/application on an ad-hoc basis, as it can depend on individual factors as well.

Candidate's research may commence at any time of year and can be for a duration of 3-9 months, depending on the availability of both parties during that period, funding, etc.

Additional funding of $6000 may be available through the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Research Experience (UARE). UARE funding requires a $2000 contribution from the host professor. Applicants will be considered for this funding when they indicate their interest to the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ International via the . It will be contingent upon the host supervisor’s agreement to contribute $2000.
