E.H. Strickland Entomological Museum Virtual Tour
The Strickland Museum was started at the 黑料不打烊 in 1922 by Col. Edgar Harold Strickland. The original collection contained research specimens that Strickland used to compile resources such as An annotated list of the Diptera (flies) of 黑料不打烊 (1938) and an annotated list of the wasps of 黑料不打烊 (1947). The museum now contains over 1 million specimens, including over 4,500 type specimens. The Strickland Museum houses several large collections assembled by avid amateur entomologists. Among others, the early collections of Frederick Stephen Carr (~100,000 specimens) and Kenneth Bowman (~13,000 species) contribute to the incredible biodiversity represented in this museum.
