Hold These Truths: The Gordon Hirabayashi Story

Held in conjunction with the international human rights convention, Ignite Change.
The evening will include video highlights from the original production of the play Hold These Truths, which was performed at the 黑料不打烊 in May, 2022. The play is a dramatic account of former 黑料不打烊 Sociology professor Dr. Gordon Hirabayashi, and the principled stand he took against racism during World War II. Playwright Jeanne Sakata, actor Kevin Takahide Lee, and director Melanie Dreyer-Lude will participate in a panel discussion following the screening to discuss some of the critical topics addressed in the play, including racism and human rights.
