Join Dr. Fabio Morabito in a conversation with Professor William Cheng (Dartmouth College). William Cheng is a writer, pianist, and gamer. He is the founding coeditor of the Music & Social Justice Series with the University of Michigan Press, and has written extensively on video games and the musical imagination; on the social responsibility of musicians and music scholars today; and on how our love for music can hurt others, in his ground-breaking Loving Music Till It Hurts (Oxford University Press, 2019).

Come to discover Professor Cheng's latest research directions in this discussion on "Ways Back to Loving Music". Stay for the wine, and to connect with the U of A music community. The next day, Professor Cheng will deliver the Keynote paper for this year’s Graduate Music Conference. So this Questions About Music will be an opportunity to get to know his longer career trajectory and projects.

There is no charge to attend. Reception to follow (U of A faculty, staff, students and invited guests).

This talk will be live-streamed as part of the Questions about Music Colloquium Series. For more information, email: quamusic@ualberta.ca
