Students working on their research project at last year's hackathon.
How can we foster meaningful and mutually beneficial connections between our various communities?
On November 13-14, the Undergraduate Research Initiative is teaming up with KIAS to host Tomorrow's Ideas, Now: Connecting Communities, which challenges students to work together to develop projects that can break down silos, challenge stereotypes, and help foster new connections. The event is meant to be a catalyst to spark new ideas and initiatives -- and who knows? Your idea might even earn you a $500 cash prize to help you put into action!
How can you get involved?
Step 1: Register by October 26th. Tell us your ideas, interests, skills -- why do you want to participate?
Step 2: Attend the keynote presentation and mixer, November 13, 6-8pm. Eat free food. Meet cool people. Learn about the intersection of punk rock, notions of community, and social movements. (Cool, right?)
Step 3: Participate in the project development day, Saturday, November 14, 10am-4pm. Start something awesome. Eat more free food. Take a chance at winning $500 to support your project.
Step 4: Present your project at the Festival of Undergraduate Research & Creative Activities (FURCA) in March 2016. Share your success. More food. More people. More prizes up for grabs!
