Filipina migrant domestic workers, dissident friendships, and movements for social change

Learn about the concept of ‘care activism’ among predominantly Filipina migrant domestic worker activists. Based on research from 2009 until 2020 for her book, “Care Activism: Migrant Domestic Workers, Movement-Building and Communities of Care,” Ethel argues that, far from being ‘objects’ of labour migration policies, migrant domestic workers resist harmful structures, norms and policies through their activism.
