The Division of Infectious Diseases is excited to be hosting our annual Research Day in conjunction with the Dr. Geoffrey Taylor Lectureship on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Who Should Attend
We are pleased to invite faculty members, clinicians, trainees, allied healthcare workers, researchers, and other staff to participate.
Location
Join us in person in room 2-193 Clinical Sciences Building! There will be a virtual option for those unable to attend all or part of the event in person.
Registration
The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 21, 2025.
Call for Abstracts
Deadline: April 25
Please send your abstract to idea@ualberta.ca.
Abstract submissions are open to:
- adult Infectious Diseases Subspecialty Residents (mandatory)
- pediatric Infectious Diseases SSRs
- Medical Microbiology residents
- Clinical Microbiology Fellows
- Transplant ID Fellows
- graduate students (MSc or PhD) under supervision/co-supervision by a member of the Division of Infectious Diseases or FoMD
Criteria
Your abstract should follow these criteria:
- Abstracts can be work in progress or published within the last 12 months.
- You may submit an abstract presented in the past 12 months, or planned to be presented, at a national/international conference.
- In addition to original research, case reports will also be accepted where a novel observation or key learning is highlighted.
- Text of abstract: 300 words maximum and keep abbreviations to a minimum.
- Maximum of 2 figures / tables as needed (these do not count against the number of characters).
Categories
The top abstract will be selected for oral presentation at Research Day in each of the three categories below. The top three abstracts will be awarded a prize.
